Botswana is a landlocked country situated in the centre of southern Africa. Located in the northern part of the country, the Okavango Delta is a wondrous wetland within a desert, and is one of the largest inland delta systems in the world, an area of 16 000 sq. km (6 000 sq. miles) filled with water channels, lagoons and islands. The Delta is inscribed by UNESCO World Heritage List as the 1000th member in 2014. With a record of almost 600 bird species, Botswana offers unique birding experience coupled with other highlights for this journey – 2nd largest zebra migration, mokoro ride on river to observe waterbirds in close distance.
